We are so excited to welcome the uber talented Chef Lee Cooper to the Okanagan Table as part of our Guest Chef Series.
Born and raised on Vancouver Island Chef Cooper has both family and career history with the Okanagan. After graduating culinary school in the late ‘90’s, Chef Cooper beefed up his resume working with his uncle Bernard Casavant at Chef Bernard’s Café in Whistler, was part of the opening team of Chef Butters’ Fresco Restaurant & Lounge (the predecessor to RauDZ) and a stint with Chef Michael Allemeier at Mission Hill Winery. Leaving the Okanagan behind he headed to Europe for further training. His European experience included working in the three Michelin-starred Fat Duck in Berkshire, England with famed chef Heston Blumenthal.
Throughout his career he has cooked at the Oscars with Jamie Oliver, spent time in Scott Jaeger’s kitchen at The Peartree Restaurant in Burnaby and was part of the opening team at MARKET by Jean-Georges in Vancouver.
For the past ten years he has been chef/owner of the award-winning Gastown mainstay L’Abbatoir. L’Abbatoir is consistently recognized as one of Canada’s leading culinary destinations and finds itself annually recognized on Canada’s 100 Best Restaurants lists and the OAD Top 100 Gourmet Casual Restaurants in North America.
We are thrilled to welcome Chef Cooper into our kitchen for a very special evening.
